Welcome to Thurrock Food Network

During the Coronavirus lockdown, there was enormous community spirit and motivation to provide everyone with basic food supplies, witnessed right across the UK. Here in Thurrock, a wealth of businesses, community groups, and individuals came forward with contributions of food and resources to help others. Since April 2021 the network has been able to assist individuals’ in accessing food, sign-posting people to the numerous local projects, charities and organisations in Thurrock.

Ensuring Thurrock has a zero-waste food community by diverting excess food to those that need it.

Identifying further needs within communities and encouraging people to get involved in local food projects such as Community Gardens, Cook and Eat Clubs etc.

Working with individuals, community groups, supermarkets and businesses to coordinate offers and requests for food.
