To celebrate the launch of OurRoad, a group of local photographers have taken a photograph to represent each ward. These have been made into postcards and every house in Thurrock will receive 2 postcards of their ward during June.

There are an extra five special edition sponsored postcards – which are yet to be released – 20 cards will need to be collected and pieced ‘back together’ in order to reveal a larger image representing some of the most beautiful sights, right on our doorstep.

How to collect all the postcards?

Use the OurRoad Facebook page to swap and join up with others so you collect each ward postcard. Let people know what you have and what you need, then post your postcard to them. You receive one back and you make a new connection / friend. Alternatively, make conversation with your neighbours, chat to people in the supermarket and see if they are collecting. Maybe you can swap or join forces to collect.

Discover Thurrock

On each of the postcards, we’ve included What3Word reference codes – which are easy to follow location coordinates, so you can go and visit these places and enjoy them in real life.

The postcards are being delivered throughout June, with the five limited edition cards being released later.

We’ll be running regular give-aways of extra cards from our social accounts and in promotion with local business partners.

Follow us on social on Facebook /OurRoadThurrock or on Instagram @OurRoadThurrock to swap your cards, and share pictures of how your collection is getting on with us.

The competition ended on Tuesday 1 September 2020 with the winner chosen by random selection and announced by Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Terry Piccolo.
