On Saturday 8th June, Thurrock held its first Pride festival! This was a momentous occasion for the borough!
The day started with a walk, organised by the T100 Goes Wild programme. Those involved walked from Purfleet-on-Thames train station, along the Thames to The Wharf, Grays. Individuals were carrying flags created by community members with Kinetika artists.
They continued on to join the Thurrock Pride Festival at Thameside Theatre which was organised and overseen by Thurrock LGBT+ Network and Arts Outburst.
It was agreed by all that this was a successful day where all those who attended had fun.
Four members of staff from Thurrock CVS dedicated their own personal time to volunteer at the event and support the LGBTQ+ community of Thurrock.
Look out for more events coming up in Thurrock over the summer! We will be looking for volunteers to support at these one off events.
Take a look below at some of the highlights from the day!
