We are working with partners in Thurrock to provide help for those most in need during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Thurrock Coronavirus Community Action is a partnership led by the council, Stronger Together and Thurrock CVS, working with local organisations to safely coordinate support and volunteers.
Help for residents at most risk
Our priority is to help residents who
- have received a text or letter from the NHS about ‘shielding’
- are at very high risk due to underlying health conditions
- must stay at home and self-isolate for 12 weeks
- do not have friends or family who can help
‘Shielding’ means protecting people who are extremely vulnerable by helping them keep all contact with others to a minimum.
If you have received a text or letter from the NHS about shielding, you should follow the link in the message and sign-up for support. Our volunteers will then get in touch and talk with you about the help you need.
Help for other residents who need support
Help is also available for people who have not been contacted about shielding but who need extra support at this time. We can help with access to:
- food
- medicines
- social contact
If you or someone you know is vulnerable – without friends or family to help – and in need of help with food, medicine or other vital support, please send us details using the form below.
