TodayAveley Community Hub and Library is based on the Recreation Ground in Aveley.
We are currently open 5 days a week between 9.30am and 5pm and run with a combination of Library staff, Hub volunteers and Thurrock Adult College, who are ready to help you with local enquiries.
We have a number of facilities within the Hub including a hall and 2 rooms for hire, a Community Fridge and Pantry, a Nursery and Library facilities and computers for all ages to come along. If you’re not familiar with a computer, we have volunteers who are happy to guide you through the basics to help you become more independent online.
The Hub is home to a Coffee and Snack Bar where you can pop in for hot and cold drinks, snacks, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and special events.
The Hub and Library offer many activities including a Toddler Group, Arts and Craft groups for adults, Rhyme Time, Book Club, Reading Friends, half term activities for children, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, Karate and Yoga.
Thurrock Adult College are at the building every Wednesday, so if you are looking for training courses or want to gain new qualifications feel free to pop in.
We also have a number of local groups and organisations who pop in on a regular basis to support local residents and answer questions and enquiries you may have, from regeneration building works in Aveley to volunteering to housing and benefits.
