Supporting volunteering in Thurrock

Ngage Thurrock

Volunteer Centre Thurrock can assist local people in finding a volunteering role with either local or national organisations. We can also support organisations in finding volunteers, so visit our website and click on the Volunteer Centre tab to find out more.

What is involved?
You need to consider why you want to volunteer, what you hope to give and what you hope to gain.
You may be looking for a full time/part time volunteering role, something to do during the daytime or a flexible role at evenings and weekends. You may want to work with a particular group or organisation, or help younger or older people, or maybe on an environmental project.
Whatever you are looking for, the Ngage Volunteer Centre has a choice of voluntary opportunities with different groups and organisations, and we can help point you in the right direction according to your own circumstances and interests.

What Could I do?
From fundraising to practical activities, there are volunteering opportunities for everyone.
As a volunteer you could:
-provide administrative support
-work in a charity shop
-befriend an older person
-provide first aid at events
-volunteer for a driving service
-IT or data inputting
-help with gardening projects and much more

How do I register to become a volunteer?
Once you have registered to become a volunteer you should be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator or a team member (within approximately 7 working days) to organise a suitable appointment for you to come in and discuss the opportunities available.
We can talk to you about a wide range of volunteering opportunities and support you in finding interesting and rewarding volunteering opportunities.
