Shaw Trust have expanded their Work and Health Programme (WHP) offer with ‘WHP Pioneer,’ part of the DWP’s Universal Support employment programme announced in the 2023 Spring Budget to support more people into work. We will provide economically inactive participants with up to 15 months of support, developing aspirations and moving them into work quickly. We will match individuals to vacancies and deliver effective training and development pre- and post-employment.
Participants – will receive specialist one-to-one support from a dedicated Employment Advisor including:
· CVs, interview skills, job searching and applications.
· Access to our Employer Engagement Specialist and current vacancies within the local area.
· Health support interventions (incl managing anxiety/depressions, building confidence and self-esteem).
· Short courses to support with upskilling.
· Self-employment advice and guidance.
· Ongoing In-Work Support
This is a voluntary programme so is for individuals that would like to find employment but due to health or circumstances would benefit from some additional support to move forward. They do not need to be in receipt of any benefit but if they are, they will not be eligible if they claim UC Intensive Work Search, Jobseekers Allowance and New Style Jobseekers Allowance (the desk aid attached outlines criteria). They must be over 18 and unemployed. The best bit is that these individuals can also self-refer to the programme (as well as find further information) via the link…https://shawtrust.org.uk/whp-pioneer
To qualify for WHP Pioneer, you must be economically inactive (not currently employed or in training) and face one or more of the following barriers to employment:
