On Wednesday 18th April Thurrock Volunteer Centre was delighted to attend the Reed Family event, with five other organisations to support those who have been unemployed for over six months. Over 30 people attended the two hour event and spent time finding out about childcare options, wellbeing options and volunteering all with the hope it will support their employment seeking.
The volunteer coordinator explained the benefits of volunteering, not just the practical skills but wellbeing support it brings to those who volunteer. Several of those who spoke to the Volunteer Coordinator, have registered for volunteering in Thurrock and support will be provided in locating the ideal opportunity for them.
“It was a pleasure to attend and speak to so many, who are willing to embrace the volunteering experience“, said Joanne, Volunteer Coordinator.
