Mid and South Essex CCG are working with the local NHS on a festive idea to encourage thanks, recognition and praise for the incredible people working and volunteering to keep residents safe in these crazy times. As you can imagine, particularly as winter draws in, staff are pretty exhausted, morale is low and lots are sacrificing time with their loved ones this Christmas to look after the wider community.
Do you know someone who has been working their socks off to help others and would value to little thanks?
Mid and South Essex CCG want to encourage people to make a special 2020 Christmas decoration in honour of someone that has helped them during COVID-19 – it could be an angel dedicated to someone for the NHS, a social worker or carer supporting people in our care homes, or perhaps a neighbour that has helped them when they’ve needed to shield/ a volunteer who might have helped delivered medication etc or even a friend that has been on the other end of the phone to help them through difficult times. I’m sure you get the picture.. so many people, so many amazing acts of kindness and compassion to celebrate this year. Who will make it to the top of your tree? Be it a star or an angel..
Mid and South Essex CCG said “We don’t want to be prescription about how people do this but will be looking at developing to assets to inspire people.
“We are, however really keen for our local knitting/crochet armies to help make little people that they can dedicate to someone who has helped them get through 2020. Or even yarnbomb some of our local post-boxes with a little collection of people, doctors, nurses, volunteers, carers etc.”
