Thurrock have even more programmes that have now come on-board for the reduction of obesity in Thurrock. 8 exciting and different programmes to suit all ages and abilities.
Added to the list is: Aqua at Corringham and Belhus; Zumba with Creative Blast and a football programme for men. Thurrock Council are also going to be soon adding an on-line weight loss programme.
Creative Blast
Creative Blast offers group exercises classes that are suitable for anyone who wants to exercise, get fit, lose weight and have fun. You may attend up to 3 classes a week at their studio in the Thameside Complex, Grays.
Classes include dance fitness, Zumba, Zumba Gold for older adults, Zumba Toning and a range of cardio-based fitness and high-intensity interval training (HIIT). You will also get an eating plan, regular weigh-ins, access to a private Facebook support group and workouts to complete at home.
To be eligible, you must have a BMI of at least 26 and no more than 39.9.

Impulse Leisure football
Impulse Leisure offers a 12-week weight management programme for men based on football. at the Civic Hall in Blackshots Lane, Grays. It doesn’t matter whether you already play or have never played before, these sessions of coach-led physical activity and dietary advice will help you become fitter, stronger and lose weight.
During the 12 weeks, you’ll attend 2 football-based fitness sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm at the Civic Hall, Blackshots Lane, Grays, or outside on the field if the weather is good. You’ll also attend a strength and conditioning fitness session on Thursday evenings from 8pm to 9pm.
To be eligible, you must have a BMI of at least 27.5 and no more than 39.9.
